The Inniskeen Road July Evening Festival celebrates the life, poetry and local landscape of Patrick Kavanagh, one of Ireland's best-loved poets, in his native Inniskeen, County Monaghan. Inspired by Kavanagh's famous poem Inniskeen Road: July Evening, the festival brings to life the rural world he captured: bicycles on country roads, music storytelling, community gatherings and the remembered "dance in Billy Brennan's barn".
